Basic green 4(Malachite green) is yellow in concentrated sulfuric acid and becomes dark orange after dilution. It is orange in concentrated nitric acid and becomes orange brown after dilution. Sodium hydroxide in aqueous solution has greenish white precipitation, and hydrochloric acid changes into red light and yellow. Dyed on acrylic fiber and cotton fiber dyed by tannin mordant, it is bright blue light and green, and slightly yellow under tungsten filament light.

1.Silk dyeing: It used for silk dyeing, dyeing fastness (grade I) is:

2. Acrylic fiber dyeing: in the bath of silk and sodium acetate, the pH value of dyeing bath is below 5, if sulfuric acid bath, the color is slightly yellow; With formic acid bath, colored light yellow. If need to under 120 ℃ high temperature dyeing, color of light is constant, when the dye bath pH greater than 8, namely to colorless; Again when the dye bath pH value reduced to 6 below, recoverable colours. Sunlight fastness level 4 ~ 5, soaping fastness, and fastness to water are 4 ~ 5 level, perspiration, friction, iron very hot, dry washing fastness is 4. The dyes used for determination of acrylic abroad saturation value standard dye and cationic dye saturation coefficient. Often used with fuchsin (C.I.B asicViolet14) spell dyed acrylic yarn, black to black color. The sunlight fastness than application has obviously improved separately, and is often used for dyeing acrylic knitted goods fruit-green and dark green color.

3. Cotton dyeing: Malachite green can be used for tannin mordant dyeing cotton fiber, cotton on the sunlight fastness of grade 2, soaping and stained with color fastness to level 3 and level 3 ~ 4 respectively, water fade in color fastness grade 3 ~ 4, with level 3, the colour fastness to perspiration fade in color fastness grade 3 ~ 4, on color fastness to 2 ~ 3 grade, iron fastness 4 ~ 5 level, dry rubbing fastness level 4, wet rubbing fastness grade 3 ~ 4, resistance to sulfuric acid fastness level 2, resistance to acetic acid fastness level 4 ~ 5, soda ash resistant fastness grade 1.

4. Other fiber dyeing: two acetate fibre dyeing, in 80 ℃ acetic acid bath, good color fastness, sunlight fastness grade 3-4, grade 5 fastness to soaping.

5. Others: can be used for leather, paper, hemp, bamboo and wood dyeing, as well as for the manufacture of lake and solvent dyes.

Mainly used for acrylic, silk, wool, vinegar fiber dyeing, also used in leather, hemp, bamboo, wood, paper, shading, also used in the manufacture color amylum.
